Some of you may know of what I do here at Lifestyle Goddess, for those of you who do not, I mentor Goddess’ like yourself & empower them by improving the relationship they have with themselves so their Inner Creatrix can emerge. It’s beyond my wildest dreams to be doing work that comes so natural to me, work I am so passionate about & the most rewarding part of my business is to witness the transformation of my fellow Goddesses into their Inner Creatrix. I am continually stretched, inspired, & empowered by the tribe of goddesses I work with. And I’m forever growing & learning along with them.
Which leads me to this truth…
BEing authentic seems to start with truly believing & owning the fact that “I am enough.”
Through my own journey this wasn’t something I thought too much about & I really had no idea how owning up to “BEing Enough” is actually the foundation, the place to start with, the place to improve upon. When I first started coaching I believed that our current situation, the current status of our life, was the starting point. Boy was I wrong! You see believing, to the very core of your BEing, that you are enough IS the starting point. You cannot heal, change or shift a core belief until you believe you are worthy & enough to do so.
Believing “of course I’m NOT enough” based on the evidence that; I haven’t built an empire! I haven’t made all of my dreams come true! I don’t eat all organic! I should exercise more often! Be more patient with others! Find my Twin Flame! Blah blah blah. All those statements were keeping me stuck in the very mindset I wanted to change. I AM enough without any of those things. So now I decided I am committing myself to & jumping onto the “I AM Enough” bandwagon!
Before we can reinvent ourselves or move forward, we must start from a strong, loving, secure base of self-worth. When don’t believe we are deserving of a big bold bright existence, it will never happen…And what I’m finding out more & more is that self-love, the ability to believe we are truly deserving, comes down to one thing…the ability to declare “I AM Enough!” Sometimes when I say those words I think of Stuart Smalley on Saturday Night Live declaring, “I’m good enough, I’m smart enough and “doggone it people like me!” He cracks me up.
Here’s a little exercise I learned from Louise Hay’s “Mirror Work”. Stand in front of the mirror & for a whole 5 minutes (at first, then work your way up to 15 minutes), say out loud “I AM Enough!” Say it with passion, say it with purpose & say it with meaning. Keep saying it over & over until you feel a shift take place. Then take notice of what comes up. Do you feel like you’re faking it? Do you immediately start adding buts, or sometimes, or ifs? What do you feel within your body? Where do you feel it? What does it feel like? This is the place you store your “not good enough” energy. This is the place that is blocking that amazing, infinite source of truly being Good Enough…Just the way you are right now! FYI, I still have a hard time when I do this exercise, don’t stress it! Keep working at it & amazing things will begin to unfold. I promise!
Don’t block you’re “I AM Enough” energy with a list of things about yourself you’d like to be/do “better.” The only thing you should aim for is being a better person that the one you were yesterday. The only way to become a better YOU is to accept who you are right at this moment. There’s nothing to change, nothing to learn, nothing more you need to do. So today, right now declare your awesomeness & say out loud:
“I am enough, just as I am, right this very moment, with all my quirkiness, wackiness, & flaws..I AM Enough just as I AM!”
I notice the days I declare this statement in my crazy, wacked out way, those are the times I feel awesome, those are the times I feel at peace & those are the times I feel a tingle in my belly that makes me start laughing so hard. Yes it could be the fact that I look & sound like a nut job yelling this out loud alone in my house & my neighbors may hear me every once in a while, but still, it makes me feel good, happy & empowered! Huh, I’m thinking I just might start shouting it a little louder & with more emphasis from now on. I’ll get my neighbors involved!
I encourage you to take a few minutes & declare your awesomeness. I hope to inspire you with my own declaration…
My name is Ann Marie & I am enough, just as I am, right this very moment.
I am unconventional & quirky. I am full of empathy & compassion. I genuinely want to make the world a better place. I truly want everyone to find the peace & love within themselves. I try to love unconditionally. I practice kindness. I’m NOT afraid of the truth. I don’t sugar coat shit. I am loyal, mysterious, adventurous, supportive, & kooky. I am a goddess. I am enough. I make mistakes, but I own them & I learn from them. Well I make a bunch of mistakes!
I am enough. I am open-minded, artistic & creative. I am also emotional & demanding. I’m always looking for answers. I am a goddess who is open to mysteries, accepting of miracles & open to the truth of others. I am diving in, devouring, loving, protecting, peeling back the surface of petty desires to the hunger for connection, for belief, for truth.
I am learning how to be less concerned with doing things correctly than I once was & more concerned with showing up & BEing present. I am open to love on all levels. I accept that I crave financial abundance, a freedom to do what I want, when I want it. I am still enough! I accept that a sense of wonder is something to cultivate. I mindfully practice patience, although it’s sometimes a challenge for me.
I love the ocean, stars in the night sky, violent storms, the smell of rich coffee, laughing until I can’t breathe, having someone reach for my hand, worshiping the moon & its cycles. I am a mommy, a daughter, a sister, a storyteller, an aunt, a mentor, & most of all a student. I am enough!
Now it’s your turn…declare that YOU are Enough! Because I know, deep within my heart…YOU ARE ENOUGH, Just the way you are right now!
You were enough before, you are enough now, & you will continue to be enough as you become more of who you were made to be.
Love & light,
